CAPITAL PUNISHMENT FOR TROY DAVIS

CAPITAL PUNISHMENT FOR TROY DAVIS
Troy Davis, a convict for the murder of the Savannah Police Officer is to be executed through lethal injection on Wednesday.
The 42 years old Davis was to be executed in the year 2007 but the jury thought trying him again. Long lasted prayers of millions were not sufficient to pardon Davis.
The five member board panel, which was to give the judgment on Tuesday, stated that Mr. Davis should die for killing an off duty Police Officer MacPhail. The Court said he was given ample time to prove his innocence, which he failed to.
Davis was held out of death for 3 times since 2007. Firstly, the state parole board made stay to his execution in 2007, then the Supreme Court held him out of death and then the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals stopped his immediate execution stating that the testimony has to be reconsidered.
Davis’ sister still strongly believes that Davis is not the murderer, but no ample and substantial evidence is there to rescue him. Davis advocates’ does not have any hopes now. They don’t see any way to please the court.
Both MacPhail’s family and Davis family are in the grieved situation. The MacPahil family stated that they want him to be executed not for killing him but for justice. MacPhail died leaving behind his mother, wife and two children.
Today is the day to mourn for the millions. The prayers and perception of those millions could not make Davis out of the Death.
Sources said that the two children of the slain Police Officer would be attending the execution of Troy Davis.
