Sapkota firm on Bhattarai-led unity govt

KATHMANDU: UCPN-M Spokesperson Agni Sapkota claimed that the national unity government would be formed under the leadership of Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai.

Sooner or later all the opposition parties should accept the Bhattarai-led government, Sapkota said in a meeting with journalists on Sunday.

Sapkota reiterated this statement at a time when major opposition parties including Nepali Congress (NC), CPN-UML and CPN-M are saying that the Baburam Bhattarai-led government is unacceptable to them.

Earlier on Saturday, UCPN-M Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal claimed that the NC and UML will accept the Baburam Bhattarai government.

The meeting of party office bearers convened on Sunday decided to initiate the formation of national unity government under PM Baburam Bhattarai.

Sapkota claimed that the opposition is poisoning the President’s mind and dragging him into controversy.
